My name is Cait Marie. I am 33 years old and a mother of four children - one boy, a set of twin girls, and another baby girl. Originally from Texas, I now live full-time in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico since 2018.

I am a 300-hour CYT (Certified Yoga Teacher). My training is in classical Tantra-Hatha and Raja Yoga. I am a CPYT-certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher and a certified Prenatal/Postnatal Exercise Specialist helping women through pregnancy and postpartum.

I hold the following certifications from the NASM™ (National Academy of Sports Medicine): Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist. I have two certifications through Yoga Medicine®: Women’s Health and Mental Health and Wellness.

My training has given me much to draw from but it is my personal experiences that are the heart of why I started Maya Yoga Method and am so passionate about working with women. My passion for and belief in healing, restoration, mind, body, and soul unification comes from having experienced this healing in my own life and multiple encounters with other women going through and healing from these experiences as well.

How the Maya Yoga Method was created

My Personal Healing Story

It all started after the high risk and physically depleting pregnancy and birth of my premature twins. On top of the stress of three kids under three years old, trying on low-carb diets and working out way too much, I could tell my hormones were not functioning optimally. I had undiagnosed post-partum depression and PTSD from our birthing experience. I then went on to go through a divorce, moving internationally, working 11+ hours a day, and entering into an abusive relationship.

I began experiencing very painful periods, pain with sex, I started losing my hair, my skin began breaking out, I was chronically bloated, agitated, lost a lot of weight, had insomnia and no appetite. It was such a vicious cycle that I didn't know how to get out of.

I was diagnosed with colitis and endometriosis, I endured an ectopic pregnancy which led to needing another abdominal surgery, and I had extreme anxiety and depression.

I started seeing a psychologist because my intuition kept telling me that no matter how hopeless everything seemed, I could feel better. Through the help of a psychologist, I began extricating myself from the work and relational environment that wasn't serving me anymore. On top of that, I came across a certification opportunity for women's mental health and hormones. I used myself as my own case study and put everything into practice. The results I began to see were mind-blowing!

My skin started to clear up, my hair started to grow, my digestive issues went away, I said goodbye to endometriosis symptoms and PMS, and I began to sleep. I was on my path to healing and it was because of these modalities.

I realized that there is a time and place for western medicine and a very big need to utilize ancient healing techniques from the east. And this is the heart and soul of the Maya Yoga Method.

About My Method

Acknowledged by medical research, Cait uses techniques inspired by Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Maya Yoga Method strives to holistically support women in all stages of life. It seeks not to eliminate the possible need for Western Medicine, but rather wishes to create a therapeutic treatment plan that works in unity with all necessary modalities of health and well-being. With a high value for wellness of mind, body, and soul, the Maya Yoga Method is a way to create more equilibrium at the core of being. And it is from a core resonating positively that all systems can better flourish and perform as they were intended.

What is Yoga Therapeutics?

Yoga Therapeutics for Women is holistic healing support. It is a platform to connect with me, Cait as your personal guide. Trained to assess the spectrum of women's common mental and physical health issues through the lense of TCM, I created the Maya Yoga Method which focuses on potent techniques and practices taken from yoga, breath work and meditation as well as any necessary functional movement and/or rehabilitative strategies from my trainings in the fitness industry to begin moving the nervous system back to calm so you can begin to heal.
